Twin Cities Wine Educaiton is proud to present a special night with a very special guest
His story is amazing, and led in December 2015 to a full profile in the Wall Street Journal (read the article here).
A native Minnesotan, son of prominent local artists, goes to a wine tasting in Chicago and falls for the daughter of one of the premier Barolo producers, Paulo Scavino. One thing led to another and Weston Hoard found himself living in Piedmont learning from Mr. Scavino himself, eventually becoming the export manager for the company.
As time went on, he returned to the United States and founded The Piedmont Guy, focusing on wines specifically from the legendary region, and finding bang for the buck gems including the holy grail: affordable Barolo and Barbaresco.
Join us for a special night of wine tasting, stories, insights, buying advice, and travel ideas with Weston Hoard, The Piedmont Guy.
For this class we will taste a wide range of Weston’s finds, from the obscure to the well known (including great Barolos), hearing the first hand stories of how he found the wine, how he convinced the families to work with him to import their wines to the United States.
This will be a great evening for those curious about not only Italian wine, but the business of wine importing, the work that goes into creating a brand, and anybody at all curious about how a 30-something son of artists ends up in the Wall Street Journal talking about wine.
I hope you can join us for this special night!
