Say “bubbly” and most people can hear the corks popping instantly. Bubbly means celebration, good times, special occasions, and more often than not, Champagne. But ‘real’ Champagne only comes from Champagne, France, and has become more and more expensive over the years. But as we’ve discovered there is a whole other world of sparkling wine to enjoy besides the ‘real stuff’ (which will be detailed in the Champagne Masterclass on December 29th).
In this class, we will learn about everything Bubbly … besides Champagne. These wines represent some of the best in the world, but are often made in ways that help keep the price down. We’ll discuss Cremant from France, Cava from Spain, Prosecco and Franciacorta from Italy, incredible sparkling wines from California, and rare gems from other parts of the world.
