It’s an afternoon with one of the top chefs of the Twin Cities learning about one particular dish and the perfect wine pairings to go along with it.
Food and wine pairing questions are common during our wine classes. It’s fun to talk about the theories of pairing, but what’s much more effective is to actually eat and drink!
In this new format, we’ll gather as a small group (12 people) to hear from chef Macdonald about Spinach Gnudi (what is Gnudi you ask? see this), including his history with the dish, the tips and techniques of preparation at home, ways to make your own dishes even better, and how to shop for key ingredients. Then Todd will run to the kitchen to start to cook!
While chef is cooking the dishes, we’ll dive into three very different wines that will all pair with the dish for different reasons. We’ll cover the details about the wines, the terroir, the ideas behind the pairings, and more.
Then the food arrives! Get ready for plates of delicious Gnudi for all, along with pairing the three top quality wines with the dish. We’ll discuss the good and the bad, the plusses and the minuses, and come to conclusions about what worked best and why. Upon taking a vote, we’ll announce a wine winner!
