Twin Cities Wine Education is proud to present a special night of Rioja with a very special guest!
Get ready for an unforgettable night of Rioja! The wines of CVNE (Compañía Vinícola del Norte del España — pronouned “COO-nay” becuase the first vintage in 1879 was misprinted as “Cune” on the labels) are some of the best of the moment coming out of this historical region. We are pleased to welcome Gloria Zapatero, midwest brand manager for CVNE and Rioja expert to help us learn more about the wines and region.
The CVNE history goes way back to 1879, when brothers Eusebio and Raimundo Real de Asúa founded the winery in Haro, Rioja Alta. The cellars were designed by Aleixandre Gustave Eiffel himself, and are one of the most beautiful in Rioja.
In December 2013 an incredible honor was bestowed on the winery when the 2004 Imperial Gran Rieserva achieved the Wine Spectator number one wine of the year, the first Spanish winery to reach that honor.
I hope you can join us for this special night with a very special guest!
