Twin Cities Wine Education is proud to present a special evening of wine and learning with an amazing special guest, Megan Martel, proprietor of Rouge Bordeaux B&B in Bordeaux, France.
UNDERSTANDING BORDEAUX, with special guest Megan Martel (*and possibly husband Julien if the Skype connection works perfectly).
In January 2011 Richfield native Megan Martel, along with her French husband Julien, purchased a run down estate, a former preist’s quarters built in 1812 just outside Bordeaux France. It was a labor of love and after years of sweat equity they opened the Rouge Bordeaux B&B and Conference Center, welcoming groups and guests into their home for cooking classes, wine tastings and tours, and the opportunity to experience Bordeaux in a very personal way.
Twin Cities Wine Education is proud to welcome Megan back to the Twin Cities to talk about their property, share her stories, and most importantly give us a ‘boots on the ground’ commentary about understanding, appreciating, and visiting Bordeaux today. This class will be especially good for anybody planning on, or dreaming of, a trip to Bordeaux in the future.
We’ll start with Jason giving an overview of Bordeaux including key varieties, major and minor regions, and a short overview of the history of the area. Then we’ll turn it over to Megan to discuss how to maximize a vacation to the region, insider tips on restaurants and visiting local wineries, and of course the story of their house and how it came to be.
All along, we’ll taste a wide variety of wine from Bordeaux, helping with your understanding and learning.
Have all of your Bordeaux questions answered! This will be an exceptional and fun evening, and will give you personal contacts in Bordeaux that you can use in the future.
I hope you can make it to this special class!
