Twin Cities Wine Education is proud to present a top level class comparing three great Burgundy regions
White Burgundy: Puligny, Chassagne, and Meursault
Three villages, all next to each other. One grape, Chardonnay. All the wines are spectacular, often citied as the top of the quality potential for the Chardonnay grape. Yet all three villages produce such incredibly different wines. Why? That’s the question we’ll answer in this class.
It’s the region where terroir reigns. Where one tiny parcel of land can contain more geological pockets than you can imagine. It’s the region where the village level wines, the Premier Crus, and the Grand Crus have been delineated for hundreds of years.
It’s also one of the most difficult regions to understand, but that’s where this new class comes in.
Particular discussion will focus on the premier regions of Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault, and Chassagne-Montrachet. We will learn what makes these regions different, the soil and particular terroir of the areas, producers to seek out, the best vintages, and more. Most importantly, we will discuss how to shop for White Burgundy to get the most bang for your well earned buck.
Make no mistake: this will be one of the top White Burgundy classes of the year!
This class will be comprehensive and intensive, and we will taste outstanding wines including Premier Cru level selections that will help define for you exactly why Burgundy is one of the most coveted wine regions in the world. Seating is extremely limited!
