Twin Cities Wine Education is proud to present Wine Geek Week: Oregon, April 21-27, 2018.
This class will be a special highlight of Wine Geek Week. I’ve known Bill Hooper for well over ten years, going back to when he was the wine buyer at Zipp’s Liquor on Franklin Avenue in Minneapolis and I was his sales rep. We’ve tasted a ton of wines together, and I got to see the twinkle in his eye as he formed his future world domination plans.
Bill ended up leaving Zipps to sell wine for The Wine Company, marrying a sweet German gal, moving to Germany and studying winemaking, and eventually landing in Willamette Valley determined to make the most serious and individualistic Rieslings in America. Read his whole story on his website.
And he has succeeded. And not just with Riesling. Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Orange wine, and incredible Rosé is now part of his portfolio.
Read the recent Wines and Vines article featuring the always opinionated Hooper.
Join us for a night of free-flowing discussion on wines with Bill Hooper. The current state of Riesling in America, how a punk kid like him went from Zipps to owning his own winery, what challenges he faces as a one man operation, and much more. Bill’s distinctive and eloquent style will shape the night into one special and memorable evening.
I hope you can join us!
