Twin Cities Wine Education is proud to present a casual evening of fantastic summertime wine!
Vinho Verde popularity has grown by leaps and bounds in the past decade, led by affordable blends that are easy “grab and go” bottles for summer sipping. But what are these wines really made of? In this new class we will dive into the grape varieties used in Vinho Verde, detailing the characteristics of each, the terroir and geography they grow best in, and how they fit into the overall picture of the region.
Learn all about Alvarinho, Avesso, Azal, Arinto, Loureiro, and Trajadura while we taste STUNNING wines that are relatively new to the Minnesota market! These are not your run-of-the-mill bottom shelf cheap Vinho Verdes. Instead, these are wines that I’ve been pouring often for friends, family, and wine professionals in order to watch their eyes (and minds) open wide!
We’ll also discuss Vinho Verde in general, changes that have happened in their business structure in the last five years, and how as a consumer to find the biggest bang for the buck.
We’ll taste six outstanding selections, all available for purchase at a discounted price that evening.
