What is Twin Cities Wine Education?
Twin Cities Wine Education LLC. is an independent wine education company founded in 1998 by Jason Kallsen (Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers and Certified Specialist in Wine with the Society of Wine Educators). With no financial ties to any winery, distributor, or importer, Twin Cities Wine Education prides itself on truly independent education. The company’s mission is to build wine confidence while sparking wine curiosity.

Is there wine served at the class?
Oh my yes! Usually six selections (occasionally a bit fewer or more, but we aim for six), all presented in top quality Riedel stemware at correct temperature and decanted if needed.

Where do you hold your wine classes?
We have a number of venues around the Twin Cities that we use regularly as host locations. The wonderful cellar room at North Loop Wine and Spirits is a principal location (free parking, and the ability to shop for wine after the class). We also are regulars at the Campus Club, on the fourth floor of the University of Minnesota’s Coffman Union. Other venues include Spasso Restaurant in Minnetonka, Cotroneo’s Wine and Spirits in White Bear Lake, Buon Giorno restaurant in Mendota Heights, the Saint Paul Athletic Club, and many others.

What can I expect at a Twin Cities Wine Education class?
We pride ourselves on our independent education, free of sales pitch or distributor influence. Upon arriving you’ll receive the class outline and any handouts and maps relevant to the topic. It’s a great way to meet new friends, for you’ll be seated with other equally curious students. Most classes are approximately two hours, with a short break in the middle.

How many people come to the wine classes?
Some exclusive classes (older vintages, where we only have one bottle of each wine, for instance) are limited to about 12 people. The rest of the classes are based on the space we are in, ranging from 20 to over 100 attendees.

What is the refund policy?
Full refunds for any reason up to seven days before the event. Within seven days (or after the class) there are no refunds available. Your ticket is fully transferable to anybody over 21 years of age, and there is no need to inform us of the transfer … simply have the new recipient arrive with the ticket in hand or knowing the original ticket buyer’s name.

What other services does Twin Cities Wine Education offer?
We specialize in private wine educational seminars and events, and are fully licensed and insured to present throughout the state of Minnesota in homes and offices. These private events and education can range from two to two hundred people (the average small group event is 10-20 people). We also offer private wine cellar organization services, staff training for restaurants and retailers, and wholesaler/importer sales staff development of not only wine knowledge but also wine business acumen and sales territory management.
