Hi everyone –
Here’s a gem. Simply one of the best white wines we’ve had in 2024. Aged beautifully, but will age further (more on that later).
First, though, let’s talk about how this wine came to Minnesota.

THE BACKGROUND on this wine
Take your brain back to 2011. Just thirteen years ago.
The Bachelor Farmer opened and moved the Twin Cities up a notch in the national culinary ladder. A feature article in the New York Times, along with top reviews from local critics, made it a destination. That corner of the North Loop became ground zero for top dining.
The Bachelor Farmer proved they could single-handedly move the wine needle in the Twin Cities by featuring and selling old bottles of Jura, expensive Montepulcianos, and rare Burgundies. Those sales led to confidence, not only within that restaurant but also for the wholesalers and importers who went hunting for wines for them.
One thing led to another and this rare, amazing, hand-picked, organically farmed, age-worthy Muscadet arrived in both 750ml and 1.5L bottles. It was being sold on the list, bottle by bottle, by the passionate and knowledgeable team at The Bachelor Farmer.
Then 2020 hit. The world changed. The Bachelor Farmer closed.
But the reputation of this wine continued to grow in town. While sales have slowed at many restaurants, a bit of inventory backed up, and this is how we happened upon it. We grabbed the last four cases available in Minnesota.
So why is it not just on the shelf at a local fine wine shop?
For three reasons:
1) There is little public demand for Muscadet in general. If someone is going to drop $30-50 on a bottle of French white wine, they tend to go toward Burgundy.
2) Nobody knows that “Clisson,” the most prominent word on the label, is a granite outcropping on the south end of Muscadet known for age-worthy gems. It’s not the name of the producer. A marketing problem to say the least.
3) A 2019 white wine is a tough sell for any store at this moment. Everybody screams for FRESH, without knowing the care and time that goes into a wine like this.

DETAILS on this wine and how it tastes
100% Melon de Bourgogne, organically farmed and hand-harvested (both rarities in Muscadet), from the Clisson AOC which is well known for age-worthy wines.
Most importantly, it was aged for FOUR YEARS on the lees (dead yeast cells), which makes for wine chemistry that will make this wine age like a tortoise. In other words, this is the CURRENT VINTAGE!
LOOK AT THE COLOR OF THIS WINE! It shows a perfect touch of development, but zero signs of being ‘old.’
Aromas of flowers and the sea, with a sprinkling of apple magic dust and oyster shell. It’s so so so damn good.
After tasting the current vintage earlier this week we had all remaining Minnesota inventory, 47 bottles, shipped directly to Solo Vino.
THE OFFER
The original price on the 750ml in the Twin Cities market was hovering around $35, but for all practical purposes it was only found at high-end restaurants (at about $75-90 a bottle).
Limited to stock on hand, 47 bottles total, via the link below ONLY.
Deep discount pricing only available on remaining inventory. Savings passed onto you.
Thanks, everyone!
