Finding your way to Kallsen Studio can be challenging the first time you do it. Here’s a full overview of the best areas to park and doors to enter.
Kallsen Studio is located in the Dow Building on University Avenue and Hampton, 2242 University Avenue West, Saint Paul, MN 55114, Studio #302. Click here for a Google Map.
The Dow Building is sometimes called the “Purrniture Building” because of the cat furniture store is prominent on University Avenue.
Parking
You’ll be entering through the back of the building by the loading dock, so parking in the back lot, or on Hampden Avenue, or on Myrtle Avenue is the best bet.
The door you want to enter
Go to the back of the building where Caufield Clay Works and the loading dock are. Enter the building at the loading dock, and head up to the 3rd floor. Once you hit the 3rd floor, head to studio #302.
If you need an elevator, we have access to the building’s freight elevator and we’re happy to help.
In order to get to Kallsen Studio, you must enter through this back door on the loading dock. The other doors either don’t have access to the staircase or will be locked.
Hanging out for a bite in the neighborhood?
If you’re sticking around the area for dinner, there are several great options.
Herbst Eatery is the best restaurant in the area and has a terrific wine list.
Spicy Feta is delicious and affordable, but note it’s a Halal restaurant and thus no wine.
There is often a food truck to be enjoyed at Dual Citizen Brewing Company.
And a long-time local favorite for Italian food is Cafe Biaggio.
