Blind Burgundy Battle: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir showdown
March 12, 2015 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Twin Cities Wine Education presents
Blind Burgundy Battle 2015 Chardonnay and Pinot Noir Showdown!
The return of a favorite format! The Blind Battle class returns with a showdown between Burgundy and the rest of the world, in a head-to-head (or is glass-to-glass?) challenge to the supremacy of Burgundy.
We will start with a comprehensive education on the Chardonnay grape, including a discussion on its characteristics, preferred terroir, and multiple styles made around the world. Surrounding this discussion will be the question “What is a GREAT Chardonnay?”
Following the introduction, we will dive into a flight of top notch Chards from around the world, including a Premier Cru Burgundy, a California superstar, and a top rated wine from Oregon, New Zealand, Australia, or somewhere else. Three truly incredible Chardonnays that will lead into a fascinating discussion trying to answer our key question.
Make no mistake — the wines being served will be some of the best in the world. This is an amazing line-up that I can’t wait to open for you.
Following that, we will clear the decks and do the same thing with Pinot Noir. Will one of the best wines of Burgundy hold up against an Oregon cult wine and another selection from somewhere else in the world? We shall find out.
A fine night indeed. Tons of education, a super challenge, and results that we won’t know until they are revealed. I hope you can join us for this great evening!
