Italy’s Great Native White Grapes

June 25, 2015 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Twin Cities Wine Education presents
Italy’s Great Native White Grapes
Ribolla Gialla. Garganega. Arneis. Friulano. Fiano. Pecorino. The list goes on and on. What are these strangely named things? They are the great native white grapes of Italy, and they are wonderful!
Why does Italy lay claim to literally hundreds if not thousands of grapes grown no where else? We’ll answer that question in detail while tasting great examples of these wines and learning about Italian wine and food culture.
This is a particularly good class for anybody stuck in a white wine rut, buying Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, or Chardonnay over and over. The great native white grapes of Italy often have texture and style, but also firm acidity, that simply make them some of the best food wines available in the world.
You can look forward to experiencing six diverse wines from different regions, all with their own personalities and complexities. I hope you can join us!
