Meet Mary Taylor, of Mary Taylor Wine Imports
Who imports your wine matters.
Not just in terms of careful selections to build a portfolio, but also when they represent something bigger than just the juice in the glass. Join us to learn from one of the great new importers on the scene, Mary Taylor.
Some importers are in it for the sales; these the big, faceless, spreadsheet-driven importers that famously overwhelm retailers with endless cases of plonk.
Some importers are in it for the prestige and tax write-off; who wouldn’t want to tell their CPA with a straight face that their new home is Tuscany is a tax deduction?
And some importers are in it for the reasons we seek out: working with the underdog, finding small farmers that represent clean farming and honest wines, and bringing those stories home to the United States while doing the (very) hard work of selling honest wines.
Sidenote: we love Mary’s selections so much we made a complete Somm Kit just on her wines. Learn more about the Mary Taylor Imports Somm Kit.
Join us for an outstanding evening, featuring Mary Taylor herself, who will lead us into a deep dive of her philosophies, history, and portfolio. This will be an outstanding evening of both wine learning and wine tasting!
Wines to be presented: Six wines of place, showcasing interesting producers, regions, and grapes that represent what Mary Taylor Imports is all about. All wines will be available for purchase via Solo Vino Wine Shop and North Loop Wine and Spirits.
About the evening. Our host location, the Campus Club at the University of Minnesota, is one of our favorite venues. We do our classes in the spacious West Wing, with very conscious social distancing between tables. You can pre-order a cheese plate to go along with your wine tasting, or arrive early for a meal. Easy underground parking is available (note there is a parking fee). Those wishing to eat ahead of the event are invited to arrive anytime before 5pm. Class begins promtly at 6:00pm.
Please note the kitchen at the Campus Club closes when our class begins.
We hope you can join us!
