No Nouveau here: Exploring Cru Beaujolais

Beaujolais has suffered an identity crisis of massive proportions in the last twenty years in the United States. Why? Because of a tsunami of utterly forgettable (but often fun to gulp down) Beaujolias Nouveau that arrives on our shores every November.
This year, we’re taking Beaujolias back!
Introducting “No Nouveau here: exploring Cru Beaujolais”, a night of where you get to re-discover just how stunning, age-worthy, detailed, and perfect the wines of Beaujolais can be.
This will be a Nouveau free zone!
The ten ‘Crus’ of Beaujoalis make up a tapestry of vineyards that are technically part of Burgundy but rarely recognized as such. Many Burgundy producers make serious wine from the Gamay grape in Beaujolais, but few consumers get access to these gems (until now).
We will discuss all ten Crus (Saint Amour, Chenas, Julienas, Moulin-A-Vent, Fleurie, Chiroubles,Morgon, Regnie, Brouilly, and Cotes de Brouilly), and what sets them apart.
Which are best for drinking in the short term? Which age gracefully? Which are well known for a Rhone-Valley like earthiness? What sets them apart? (Hint: the geology combined with elevation plays a major factor here).
Of course, we will taste a stunning array of Cru Beaujoalis that will leave you changed when it comes to this region and the Gamay grape.
