Sonoma County Wine and Travel Masterclass
February 23, 2013 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
The Sonoma County Wine and Travel Masterclass!
I’ve called it America’s Tuscany. Quite possibly the most beautiful wine and food region we have in the United States.
Home of stunning Cabernet, surreal Chardonnay, old vine Zinfandel, some of the best Pinot Noir, and truly rich history and culture. It’s the home of an array of stunning gastromic delights: seafood, meat, cheese, olive oil, and more. And it’s possibly the most jaw-dropping place to tour and taste wine in this hemisphere.
It’s Sonoma County.
In this new class we will cover Sonoma county from all angles. We’ll start with the key wine regions, while discussing weather patterns and soil types (and why certain grapes grown best in certain regions). We will cover the history of the county, including stories of the first Italian immigrants (and the special place you go to learn more about them) and Cyrus Alexander (I’ll reveal the secret of where he’s buried). We’ll also cover a modern visit to Sonoma, including where to stay and where to eat with loads of insider’s tips.
For anybody planning a trip to wine country, this class is a must. But even if you don’t have a dream vacation scheduled, this is a great way to learn about this very special place called Sonoma.
An extensive array of top quality wines will accompany this special class, along with many pages of useful handouts and maps.
Cost is only $40 per person, all online registration fees covered by Twin Cities Wine Education.
