TANNIN: The Foundations of Wine series
June 19 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Twin Cities Wine Education presents a new series of great classes to build your wine confidence and spark vino curiosity!
THE FOUNDATIONS OF WINE SERIES: TANNIN
There are a handful of topics that can help you understand every wine in the world. They include oak, acidity, body, terroir, elevation, and climate. Through our Foundations of Wine series, you will become an expert on these particular topics and how they integrate into the wines you purchase.
In this class, we’ll explore the world of tannin, from the chemical components to food and wine paring and much more.
Where does tannin come from?
What are the indicators of tannin in a wine?
How can tannin be manipulated by the grower or winemaker?
What grape varieties carry the most tannin? The least?
How does tannin development impact aging of wines?
What cultures have an affinity for tannin?
All of these questions and more will be addressed, while we taste through five great wines to help emphasize the points. You will leave with a clear understanding of the role of oak in wine, helping YOU get more bang for the buck with all of your future wine purchases!
Class starts at 6 pm sharp. Hope to see you there!
