The Amazing Rieslings of Merkelbach

July 18 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Experience a deep education into the world of Riesling, the Mosel Valley of Germany, and one of the top tiny producers: Merkelbach.

Twin Cities Wine Education presents a special night of rarities from a tiny producer.

The Amazing Rieslings of Merkelbach

Alfred and Rolf Merkelbach are brothers. Both are in their 70’s. They live together, simply and modestly, in their small family home. They farm just under two hectares of vines. They do all the work themselves.

And the wines are as spectacular as Riesling comes.

Join us for a special class featuring the wines, history, and stories of Alfred and Rolf and how a dedicated German wine importer (Terry Theise) found these gems and brought them to America. Included will be videos, articles, and some wonderful stories when it comes to this dynamic duo.

In addition to the focus on the Merkelbach brothers, we will discuss Riesling in general including the history of the variety, the range of styles to be found, and how to shop for Mosel Valley Rieslings in the Twin Cities market.

Extremely limited seating for this special event.
