An exploration into one of the greatest wine pairings ever.
In our Chianti Immersion + Heirloom Tomatoes wine class you’ll learn what food and wine pairing is all about! Jason will present a deep dive into the world of Chianti, from the wide overview to detailing the key sub-regions, along with a comprehensive background on the Sangiovese grape. Then chef Beth Jones of the Campus Club will bring out a wide range of amazing heirloom tomatoes to try with the wines, and give us the history and the background of each. Take notes! You’ll want to plant these in 2022!
Wines to be presented: Five wines from the Chianti region showing a range of personalities, plus a white at the start just for sipping. All wines will be outstanding, distinct, interesting, and available for purchase via Solo Vino Wine Shop in Saint Paul.
About the evening. Our host location, the Campus Club at the University of Minnesota, is one of our favorite venues. You can pre-order a cheese plate to go along with your wine tasting, or arrive early for a bite! Easy underground parking is available (note there is a parking fee). Those wishing to eat ahead of the event are invited to arrive anytime before 5pm. Class begins promtly at 6:00pm.
