A beauty of a six pack for Fall enjoyment in 2025!

It’s been a bit since we’ve done a video, so we took this opportunity to step you through all six wines live from Sioux Falls, South Dakota!

A super quick breakdown of what we have here

A few sentences on each wine … but watch the video for FAR MORE information and food pairing ideas!

Domaine Cassagnau Chardonnay

Straight-up great Chardonnay that is a crowd pleaser for all. Seriously! No too oaky, not too acidic, fully of apple and pear aromas and mellow spice. Pop on a whim to make everyone in the room happy.

Verus Sauvignon Blanc

A Slovenian Sauvignon Blanc that is fall-weight and decidedly different from what we’re used to (from New Zealand). More textural, mouth filling, and weighty without losing the verve and brightness of the grape variety. Delicious!

Pardevalles Albarin

Albarin is one of those grapes that was forgotten and almost went extinct. During the 20th century, the dictatorship years for Spain, the government became the primary purchaser of grapes and they paid by the ton, not the quality. Albarin, being a naturally shy producer, was ignored and forgotten. Lo and behold, in the early 21st century a tiny plot was found and the grape was saved. Watch the video for all the tasting notes … this wine is a blast!

Michel Schlumberger Pinot Noir

Value bottles labeled Pinot Noir can be found, but rarely do they look and taste like Pinot Noir. This one is an exception. Very light bodied, elegant, detailed, and fresh. It dances on the palate and goes full on rock-and-roll with food pairings. The first wine (the Chardonnay) and this wine are both included to pop on a whim and/or enjoy while cooking a fancy meal.

Mary Taylor Douro Red blend

Many of your know our love of Mary Taylor and her business model. She’s done it again, this time in the Douro Valley of Portugal, finding a family with an old vine plot of three key northern Portugal varieties. This wine is pitch perfect dry Douro red, with loads of violet and graphite aromas. Enjoy with hearty stew.

Calcu Carmenere

This is great wine, and that statement is coming from a Carmenere cynic (I explain more about that in the video). Fresh, purple-packed, smoky, smooth wine that can benefit from some decanting and enjoyed best on the coldest of fall evenings ahead!

A mashup of fun fall recipes

All of these come from Love and Lemons, one of our favorite sites for keen recipes. We can’t wait to try these!
