Somm Kit: When The Saints Go Marching In
Here’s a topic we’ve been wanting to do for quite some time! Six wines, all with “Saint” in the name, and there is more to come. Welcome to the first, but not the last, Saints Go Marching In Somm Kit!
Let’s get to it!

THE MACON and ST. VERAN: We love the white wines of the Mâcon region of Burgundy, which is the southernmost section of this region and an area of great bargains. More info on this area: Winesearcher, and Your Wine IQ.
PINOT MEUNIER: The fascinating “other” grape of Champagne, and a rarity when it comes to being planted in California. Learn more about it from Wine Folly, as well as this article in Wine Enthusiast.
SAINT POURÇAIN is a fascinating and little known region that specializes in the blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay. Learn more through the Winesearcher site, as well as this article from Viox de la Terre.
COSTIERES DE NÎMES is a favorite go-to region of ours for tremendous wines for not much money. Learn more about this area through Winesearcher (as well as info on the Mourvedre grape), plus this article from SevenFifty Daily.
SAINT-JOSEPH is one of the two “bargain” regions of the Northern Rhône (the other being Crozes-Hermitage). It’s a good region to explore today because of the recent outstanding vintages.
SAINT-EMILION is such a fascinating area, and packed with top quality producers. The Wine Cellar Insider has a comprehensive deep dive into this area, with tons of info.
Thanks again, everyone! Enjoy your wines!
