Hi everyone –

Summertime 2025 has arrived in full, glorious, Minnesota style!

Lazy days on the deck, floating on the pontoon, sitting on the dock, and playing in the garden have begun. After so many months cooped up during the winter, nobody enjoys summertime more than we Minnesotans.

For the Summer of 2025, we’ve put together what we consider the ultimate six-pack for summertime enjoyment. This small collection covers all the bases: four whites and two rosés, each with a distinctive personality and style. As always, we support smaller and family-run wineries and importers with our choices, bringing you wines that consistently overdeliver on bang for the buck.

This special six-pack will be available for purchase and re-purchase throughout the summer, offering the deepest discount on a twelve-pack (two bottles of each).

Let’s get to them!

Mary Taylor Côtes de Gascogne, Southwest France
and
and Bico da Ran Albariño, Rias Baixas, Spain

Mary Taylor is one of our favorite importers, and we’re proud to say we were the first in the Twin Cities to shine a spotlight on her. She’s a force of nature with a unique business model. She travels around Europe finding winemaking families of top quality but low quantity, helps them make their wine even better, then imports it to America with her label (always crediting the family on the front). As a result, she’s built herself as a brand while at the same time supporting some amazing farmers and families.

If this sounds like romantic work (ahhhhh … travel Europe and taste wine!) I can tell you that it’s not and here’s why: she has to say no 90+% of the time. Imagine connecting with a family-run winemaking operation, getting to know them, tasting through the wines, and having to say that you pass. Over, and over, and over. That isn’t easy.

But when she finds the right wines and the right families, it makes all the difference.

This gem from Southwest France is 50% Colombard, 30% Ugni Blanc, 15% Gros Manseng, and 5% Sauvignon Blanc. It’s crisp, lively, bright, and packed with layers. In some ways, it’s a great substitute for Sauvignon Blanc, but it has a bit more texture than most Sauvignon Blancs—a touch more orchard fruit.

Enjoy this with simple grilled fish and a side salad while watching a summertime sunset. Oh, and at 11% ABV you might enjoy a second bottle!

The Bico da Ran Albariño is a brand-new addition to the MSP market, representing a new wave of outstanding wines from Rías Baixas, in far northwestern Spain. This new wave is based on crisp, bright flavor profiles and avoids the slightly oxidized or barrel-aged styles of Albariño of the past.

This is a small-production wine (4500 cases), and Minnesota is one of the first markets to get it. What’s fascinating about Rias Baixas is that the average size of a farm is under three acres, but most farms include grapes, fruit, veggies, and livestock such as goats and sheep. The farmers of the region are experts at maximizing a small area. To achieve this, many farmers train their grapes up into pergolas that cover the crops below, helping to not only diffuse the sunlight but also allows winds to go through the vines from below.

Being a humid region (it’s called “green Spain” due to the verdant plant growth from higher rainfall levels), this trellising is super important to grow consistently good fruit.

Typical of Albariño, this wine has a touch of almond aromas balanced out by green apple, lime zest, and quince. The mouthfeel is flawless: a bright entry, no dip in the middle, and a long finish. Food pairing? If you want to follow “what grows together goes together,” then it’s octopus. But you can use this wine in many versatile ways, from walleye to poultry with a mushroom cream sauce.

Domaine Labbé “Abymes” Vin de Savoie 2023, Savoie, France
and
and Dr. Konstantin Frank Gruner Veltliner 2023, Finger Lakes, New York

Domaine Labbé’s “Abymes” is your crisp, alpine refresher in a bottle—light, zippy, and dangerously easy to love. Made from 100% Jacquère, this low-alcohol white bursts with green apple, citrus zest, and a cool splash of mountain stream minerality. It’s fermented with native yeasts and stored in stainless steel to maintain a bright, clean, and refreshingly crisp character.

The Abymes cru lies in the heart of Savoie, tucked up against the French Alps. Vines grow on ancient glacial rubble beneath Mont Granier, soaking up the chill of the mountain air and the purity of the rocky soils. Domaine Labbé, a family-run estate, harnesses the pristine environment with organic farming and minimal intervention, allowing the Alps to speak for themselves.

Jacquère is the local hero grape here—light-bodied, high-acid, and built for alpine living. Think Chablis with a French ski pass. It’s perfect with cheese fondue, fresh trout, or just a sunny patio. Domaine Labbé’s version is one of the best out there: affordable, expressive, and a total secret weapon for white wine lovers.

Dr. Konstantin Frank’s Grüner Veltliner is a bright, expressive white wine that brings the Austrian classic to the Finger Lakes with serious style. Zesty and aromatic, it’s packed with grapefruit, green apple, white peach, and honeysuckle, plus that classic Grüner white pepper kick on the finish. With vibrant acidity and a mineral core, it’s crisp, dry, and full of personality—perfect for pairing with spicy food or enjoying solo on a warm afternoon.

This wine comes from the legendary Dr. Frank estate on Keuka Lake, where the grape was first planted in 2007 by Fred Frank, inspired by time spent in Germany. Grown in the warmer “banana belt” section of Seneca Lake, the grapes benefit from long, cool ripening seasons and well-drained, mineral-rich soils. The winemaking is all about precision and freshness: cold stainless-steel fermentation to keep those floral and citrus notes vivid and lively.

Grüner Veltliner is known for its food-friendliness, and this Finger Lakes version doesn’t disappoint. Its acidity and peppery finish make it a natural match for everything from sushi and grilled vegetables to pork, schnitzel, and spicy Thai curry. It’s particularly suited for grilled vegetables or yummy salads. Eat healthy and drink well!

Chateau Mourgues de Gres Rosé, Costiers de Nîmes, France
and
Santa Maria La Palma “Aragosta” Rosé, Sardinia

Château Mourgues du Grès Rosé from Costières de Nîmes is a vivid, sun-soaked expression of southern France in a glass. With its shimmering salmon-pink hue and aromas of fresh strawberries, stone fruit, citrus peel, and a subtle herbal lift, this dry rosé is refreshing yet layered. On the palate, it offers juicy red berry notes balanced by bright acidity and a clean, mineral-driven finish, making it equally suitable for a relaxed patio pour as for a whole summer meal.

The wine originates from Costières de Nîmes, the southernmost AOC in the Rhône Valley, where the Mediterranean climate and iconic galets roulés (sun-soaked river stones) influence the region’s bold yet balanced wines. Château Mourgues du Grès, named for the monks (“mourgues”) who once farmed the land, is deeply rooted in this terroir. Their organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards are planted to Rhône varieties like Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, which give the rosé both its fruit-forward vibrancy and savory backbone.

This is a rosé that captures both elegance and the wildness of the Provençal landscape—bright, breezy, and full of energy. It pairs effortlessly with Mediterranean dishes, grilled vegetables, seafood, or anything kissed by summer heat. With its crisp texture and subtle complexity, Château Mourgues du Grès Rosé stands out as a spirited ambassador of southern French rosé tradition.

Santa Maria La Palma’s Aragosta Rosé from Sardinia’s Alghero region is like a sunshine-soaked beach in a bottle—bright, buzzing, and effortlessly charming. Crafted from gently pressed Cannonau (Grenache), Cagnulari, and Monica, it sparkles with a pale yet lively pink hue. The nose offers fresh wild berries and subtle rose petals, with a dry, vibrant palate that balances fruitiness and savoury mineral notes with ease.

This rosato originates from the Mediterranean climate of Alghero, situated on Sardinia’s northwest coast, where warm, breezy summers and the cooling sea air coax out bright, zesty fruit and a saline tang. Santa Maria La Palma taps into this terroir tradition with lightly pressed red grapes, producing a wine that’s sapid, harmonious, and vivacious—perfect for sipping in the sun or pairing with light, seaside fare.

Aragosta is all about effortless summer vibes: dry, fresh, and delightfully fruity. Its crisp structure is ideal with seafood, chilled soups, soft cheeses, white meat, or simply as a lively aperitivo. Best enjoyed young (served 8–10 °C), it captures Sardinia’s beachside spirit in every sip—and brings that Mediterranean magic wherever it goes.

Buying advice

This is the first time we’re offering a TCWE pick for an entire season. I suggest trying one six-pack to begin with, and invite your neighbors over for a little wine party. Once you realize how versatile this collection is (truly something for everyone), then lean into the 12-pack (two bottles of each) for the best discount.

This is the perfect collection to enjoy throughout the summer 2025 season in Minnesota!

Enjoy!
